Showing the Swatch Color Without the Color Profile Applied
The swatch view – the rectangular color box inside a swatch – can
be split to show:
- the color as it will appear with its color
profile used, and
- the color as it appears on your monitor without the color profile being
used.
You will find this useful when working with color in applications that do
not use color profiles to display colors, graphics and images. For example,
Fireworks does not use color profiles to display images and graphics since
most web browsers don’t support color profiles. Displaying both views
simultaneously provides you with a better visual indication of how a color
will appear if an application ignores its color profile.
In Tangerine’s split view, the color as it appears on your monitor – without
the color profile being used – is displayed in the top left corner of
the swatch. See the diagram below.
