Naming Color Swatches

Tangerine provides you with the ability to name color swatches. You should name swatches to:

  • help identify similar colors, or
  • describe the context in which the color is used (e.g. website text color).

You can name a color swatch in either the Palette window or the Tangerine Color Picker.

Naming a Swatch in the Palette Window

To name a color swatch in the Palette window:

  1. Move the cursor over the swatch you wish to name.
  2. Open the Swatch Information panel by clicking on the blue and white icon – Information Icon – that appears in the top left corner of the swatch.
  3. Enter a name for the swatch in the text box.
  4. Click the 'tick' toolbar icon – Tick Icon – to save (or press return).

For more information see Swatch Information Panel – An Overview.

Naming a Swatch with the Tangerine Color Picker

To name a color swatch with the Color Picker:

  1. Click the swatch you wish to name. A light blue box around the swatch indicates that it has been selected.
  2. Enter a name in the text box beneath the palette.
  3. Press return.

For more information see Introducing the Tangerine Color Picker.
