Importing and Exporting Palettes

Palette's can be exported and imported into Tangerine. This lets you share palettes with clients, colleagues and friends. It also allows you to back up your color schemes.

Exporting Palettes


There are two ways to export a palette:


  • Select the 'Export' menu item from the Tangerine menu. This opens the Export Palette window. Enter a palette file name in the 'Save As' field. Choose a location for the palette file and then press 'Export'.
  • Open the Palettes Manager window. Select 'Palettes' menu item from the Tangerine menu. Click the 'Export' button to open the Export Palette window. Enter a palette file name in the 'Save As' field. Choose a location for the palette file and then press 'Export'.

Importing Palettes


There are three ways to import a palette:


  • Select the 'Import' menu item from the Tangerine menu – the Palette window must be visible to select 'Import'. Find and select the palette file (or files) in the Import Palette window and then press 'Import'.
  • Open the Palettes Manager window by selecting the 'Palettes' menu item from the Tangerine menu. Click the 'Import' button in the Palettes Manager window. Find and select the palette file (or files) in the Import Palette window and then press 'Import'.
  • A palette file or group of palette files can be imported into Tangerine by double clicking the files in the Finder. You will be asked if you wish to import the palette(s). Click 'Import' to add the palettes to Tangerine.
