Introducing the Tangerine Color Picker

The Tangerine Color Picker is designed to seamlessly integrate into Apple's Colors panel. The Colors panel is used by hundreds of applications in OS X to choose and apply colors within an application. You can use the Tangerine Color Picker to access the colors and palettes managed by Tangerine.

While the Tangerine Color Picker has a similar appearance to the Palette window it does not incorporate all the capabilities of the Palette window.

To view Tangerine Color Picker:

  1. Open the Colors panel in the application you are working in.
  2. Select the Tangerine Color Picker icon in the Colors panel toolbar. It may already be selected.

Tangerine must be running in the background for the Color Picker to be able to access the palettes. If Tangerine is not already running, you can launch it from within the Colors panel.

The Input Button

The Input button adds a color to the displayed palette. The Tangerine Color Picker does not allow identical colors to be added to a palette – the Input button will be disabled if the color already exists in the palette. Furthermore, colors with a transparency or an alpha channel are added to palettes as opaque colors. For more information see Using Tangerine Color Picker to Add Colors.
