Clicking Color Swatches to Apply Colors or Insert Syntax
When you click a color swatch in the Palette window, Tangerine will:
- apply the color of the swatch clicked to a color property in the active
application, or
- insert the syntax for the color clicked into a text field – wherever
the cursor is positioned – in the active application, or
- beep because the color cannot be applied to the application.
Tangerine allows you to click swatches while holding down either the 'shift'
key, 'option' key or 'command' key to apply colors to different color properties
or insert variations in color syntax into an application. Use the Actions Tooltip
or Actions Summary panel to determine which mouse and keyboard combinations
will insert syntax or apply colors to the different color properties of the
active application.
When inserting color syntax into an application, you are not limited to just
text editing windows, in most cases you can insert color syntax into text fields
in property inspectors and other sub-windows.
You can customise how Tangerine inserts color syntax or applies color to a color
property using the Actions window. For more information see The
Actions Window – An
Overview.
